Durty Nelly’s  – Authentic Irish pub (the interior was actually built in Ireland and assembled in Halifax).  Durty’s is great on Friday’s after work and is actually busy most nights.  If you are 30, 40 or 5o something you’ll enjoy Durty Nelly’s.  Located on Argyle Street, 10-15 minute walk from the Westin Nova Scotian.

The Henry House – A stone’s throw from the Westin Nova Scotian, the Henry House has great food at great prices.  Also serve Granite Brewery micro brew on tap.  I recomment the Ringwood Ale with lime.

The Old Triangle – 7 days a week live music, never a cover charge. Friendly staff and a good service.

The Lower Deck – The Lower deck is great on Sundays! Also a patio is very good in the summer time!

Split Crow – Centrally located in downtown Halifax at the corner of Duke and Granville. The Split Crow continues to serve locals and travelers from around the world


Cafe Chianti – Chianti has an old world charm that lends itself well to the northern Italian and Eastern Europe cuisine that is its specialty. Their menu features pasta dishes, as well as seafood and meat dishes. 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Morris East   – Enjoy creative cuisine prepared on a wood-fired oven. Their focus in pizza; however there are serval options to satisfy alternate tastes. The menu is designed monthly by the owner, Chef, Sommelier and Wine & Beverage director. 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Bish World Cuisine –  Upscale dining on the Halifax waterfront. Sleek Manhattan decor, an outdoor waterfront patio and a menu with global influences. Pan-seared scallops with mushroom pot stickers, Moroccan spiced lamb ribs with couscous or miso-marinated halibut are a few of the local dishes with international flavor. 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

Niche Lounge Supperclub – Upcasual dining and entertainment. Niche has an intimate atmosphere ideal for a small group of friends, but which can accommodate slightly larger gatherings as well. Their menu focuses on seafood but offers a range that would be suitable for a diverse palette. 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Il Mercato Ristorante – Il Mercato is inspired by the classic Italian trattoria, and their passion is classic Italian cuisine. All their dishes, including their pastas and pizza crusts, are hand made. 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.

Hamachi House Fine Japenese Cuisine – For five years running, Hamachi House has been named ” The best Sushi” in the greater Halifax area. They have even been named the “East Coast’s Freshest Sushi” by Enroute Magazine. 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

Hamachi Steakhouse Bar & Grill – Hamachi Steakhouse offers both regular and traditional Japanese Teppen – Yaki table service, and a wide variety of steak and other dishes. 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.

McKelvie’s – This restaurant is for the seafood lover, the restaurant does also over a variety of pasta and meat dishes for those would prefer something else. 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel.
