Oh Canada!

}}

Yesterday was Canada Day and the Halifax Waterfront was alive with tourists and locals enjoying the sun and the last days of the Halifax Fleet Review and 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy celebrations.

I took a walk downtown along the boardwalk with some friends and as I stopped to look back towards the Westin Nova Scotian from one of turns in the path this is what I saw…

On the waterfront Canada Day!

A Danish Naval vessel is docked along side two cruise ships, in front of the new home of Nova Scotia Power (currently under construction, due for completion Spring 2011).  The day ended with fireworks over the harbour.

I missed seeing Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip while they were touring Halifax this week, but I did make it out in my Canada t-shirt to help celebrate our 143 birthday!

To all you Americans who happen upon this blog – Happy 4th of July!
