Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is the world’s largest annual indoor show!

Featuring over 2,000 world-class Canadian and international military and civilian performers, the Tattoo continues to live up to its reputation as one of the world’s premier cultural and entertainment events.

It is a fast-paced, two-and-a-half hour family show featuring music, dance, acrobatics, drama and comedy in a number of innovative acts.

The Tattoo takes place at the Halifax Metro Centre every year during the first week of  July.  This year’s dates are July 1 – 8.  I brought my parents last year on July 4th.  They were visiting Halifax during that week specifically to see the Tattoo…they want to come back to see it again!  It really is spectacular.

First staged in 1979, when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother opened the original Nova Scotia Tattoo, it became the Nova Scotia International Tattoo in 1984 and on the occasion of her 80th Birthday in 2006, Her Majesty The Queen changed the name to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

Bagpipers, drumers, marching bands, acrobats, dancers, choirs, soloists, military and precision teams from all over the world come to Halifax…so should you!
