Great Music and Food at the Carlton.

Another great evening at the Carlton last night.  Sean McCann (1/4 of the band Great Big Sea) performed from his new solo album, Lullabies for Bloodshot Eyes to a sold out house.  It was a Great Big Show by Great Big Sean.  My two friends and I (also live music junkies) enjoyed the evening of slow melodies mixed with some GBS well-known drinkin’ songs.   Dinner was a hit too – the Blackened Salmon, Sausage-stuffed Pork Chop and Curried Shrimp & Scallop Linguini were awesome .  We highly recommend a visit to the Carlton while in Halifax.

The history of the building is long, (was built in 1759), and it was at one time a hotel.  The stone walls and wine cellar feel of the room makes it a very cozy and intimate venue to watch live music on a dinner date.   A very resonably priced dinner date at that.

Last month I saw Steve Poltz at the Carlton – what an interesting person & performer.  He’s back on Wednesday, July 7th at 9 pm and for $20 it’s well worth it!
