Earth Day at the Westin Nova Scotian

Associates at the Westin Nova Scotian celebrated Earth Day with several Reduce/Reuse/Recycle activities last week.  Thanks to Rob MacNeill, Rooms Division Manager, we had a week of events centered around April 22, the official Earth Day.  A ‘New to You’ table was set up near our staff cafeteria to trade items you no longer use at home for those you need.  We held a recycling awarness interactive game and went on a clean sweep of our neighbourhood collecting 20 bags of garbage during a two hour break from work – well done guys!

Cleaning up the Neighbourhood

We continue our Green Initiative here at the hotel and are proud of our Green Leaf rating of four leaves with the Audubon Society and four Green Keys with the hotel industry’s Green Key Eco-Rating Program.

The Green Key Eco-Rating Program is a graduated rating system designed to recognize hotels, motels and resorts that are committed to improving their environmental and fiscal performance.

  1. Yeah! Go Westin! Nice job cleaning up the neighbourhood and making changes inside the hotel to reduce your carbon footprint.

    • Thanks Alison – I applaude you, Curtis & Eric for cleaning the shoreline in Bedford! Next year we should join forces!
