What a FEAST!

It was a glorious Easter weekend in Halifax.  The sun was shining and we had highs of 24C, the highest recorded temperature prior to that was 17C on this weekend!  It was a great weekend for spring cleaning & gardening (evident by the number of garbage bags & brown paper yard bags at neighbourhood curbs).  Point Pleasant Park was busy with dog walkers, joggers and those out for a stroll (like me) enjoying the great weather.

I started my Easter Sunday with friends and family at our Westin Nova Scotian Easter Brunch.  WOW!  breakfast food (including waffle & omelete stations, eggs benedict and the usual suspects), salads, assorded cheeses/meats/seafood/breads, pasta station with shrimp & scallops, carving station with prime rib, salmon, pork, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, honey glazed vegetables were all delicious.  To top off the event…chocolate fountain with assorted fruit skewers, trifle (my favourite), apple crisp, bread pudding with caramel sauce, strawberry mousse, cookies, squares and chocolate eggs (from the Easter Bunny) for the kids.

Brunch was relaxing, coffee was flowing and live music from Paul Brushett made it a day to linger and enjoy.  Thank you to our culinary & Elements teams for making it a success.

If you missed this past Sunday’s seasonal brunch fear not, Mother’s Day is around the corner…book early…it’s the busiest brunch of the year!  You will not be disappointed, you have my word!
