Sir Paul comes to town!

Paul McCartney will be playing the Halifax Common on Saturday!  It is anticipated that 60,000 fans will be there to watch.  According to the Globe & Mail it could be a combination of the Tall Ships and a Halifax endorsement from Neil Young that convinced Sir Paul to play Halifax after two years of negotiations.  Unfortunately I won’t be in attendance and will have to hear all about it from my friends.

Next weekend Kiss hits Halifax for a concert, also on the Common.  It’s a big summer for outdoor concerts (and vintage rockers) in Atlantic Canada…Bon Jovi with Randy Bachman & Burton Cummings were in Moncton last week and AC/DC are there in early August.

Staging and grandstands are erected on the ball fields of the Halifax Common, July 8,2008. Sir Paul McCartney will perform in Halifax on July 11.
